Discover Di Pasquale's Harborview, Inc.

If you’ve ever wandered through Baltimore’s Locust Point and caught the scent of garlic and fresh bread in the air, chances are you were close to Di Pasquale's Harborview, Inc. at 500 Harborview Dr, Baltimore, MD 21230, United States. Tucked inside the Harborview community, this Italian market and deli feels less like a commercial spot and more like a neighborhood ritual. I’ve stopped in more times than I can count, usually planning to grab one sandwich and leaving with a bag full of imported pasta, olive oil, and cannoli.

The first thing that hits you is the energy behind the counter. Staff move quickly but never rush you. On my last visit, I watched them slice prosciutto paper-thin on a classic deli slicer, layering it onto a crusty roll with fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers. That sandwich alone explains why so many local reviews rave about the place. It’s not just food; it’s craftsmanship. According to the National Restaurant Association, diners increasingly value authenticity and quality ingredients over flashy presentation. You can see that principle in action here, from the imported Parmigiano-Reggiano to the house-made meatballs simmered in marinara.

The menu reads like a love letter to Southern Italy. You’ll find hearty panini, classic cold cuts, pasta dishes, brick-oven pizzas, and daily specials written on a board that regulars check the way others check social media. I once tried their lasagna on a recommendation from a longtime customer who told me he’s been coming here for over a decade. The layers were balanced, not overloaded with cheese, and the sauce had that slow-cooked depth you only get from patience and good tomatoes. It’s a reminder that traditional techniques still matter. Culinary experts from organizations like the James Beard Foundation often emphasize simplicity and respect for ingredients as pillars of great cuisine, and that philosophy shows up in every bite.

Beyond the prepared food, the Italian market section deserves attention. Shelves are stocked with imported balsamic vinegar, San Marzano tomatoes, specialty pasta, and regional olive oils. If you enjoy cooking at home, this is the kind of place where you can build a meal from scratch with reliable ingredients. I’ve personally followed a simple method using their fresh linguine, sautéed garlic, extra virgin olive oil, and clams. The result? A restaurant-quality dinner made in under 30 minutes. That kind of quality sourcing makes a real difference, and food researchers consistently note that ingredient origin impacts both flavor and nutritional value.

Location matters too. Being in Harborview gives the diner a slightly tucked-away feel compared to busier Baltimore spots like Little Italy. Yet it’s easily accessible and offers a calmer atmosphere. Families, professionals on lunch break, and retirees all seem to blend naturally in the dining area. The seating is casual, the vibe relaxed, and the conversations lively without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can have a quick espresso at the counter or settle in with friends over pizza and red wine.

Of course, no place is perfect. During peak lunch hours, especially on weekends, you might wait a bit for your order. Still, from what I’ve observed, the staff handle the rush efficiently, calling out numbers with steady precision. In my experience, the wait rarely exceeds 15 to 20 minutes, even when the line stretches toward the door. Considering the freshness and portion size, it feels fair.

Health-conscious diners will also appreciate that you can customize many items. Want your sub on whole wheat? Prefer grilled chicken over fried? They accommodate without fuss. That flexibility aligns with broader dining trends reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which highlight growing consumer interest in balanced meal options.

Ultimately, what keeps people returning to Di Pasquale's Harborview isn’t just the menu or the location. It’s the consistent execution, the respect for Italian culinary traditions, and the genuine hospitality that turns first-time visitors into regulars. In a city filled with dining choices, this Harborview gem manages to stand out by staying true to what it does best: honest food, thoughtfully prepared, and served with pride.

  • Very happy with my Sunday brunch here. Wide selection of both hot and cold sandwiches. Very reasonably priced for the portion size. The scrooch hot sandwich was fantastic with spicy cold cuts, roasted sweet peppers, and spicy pickled peppers. If you like a warm hot Italian sandwich, you have to get it. Enjoyed the Porketta sandwich with the bitter broccolini inside. The place also offers grocery items, some freezer options, and sweets.

  • Just a phenomenal Italian sandwich, it is a little far from my place or else I’d be ordering it three times a week!

  • DiPasquale’s is a true neighborhood gem, and I feel incredibly lucky to live just a five-minute walk away. It’s one of the first places in the area that recognized me as a regular, and being greeted by name by the managers always adds something special to every visit. They’re consistently welcoming, attentive, and spot-on with their recommendations. The food is reliably excellent—perfect for nights when you don’t feel like cooking. Their lasagna is my go-to, but their Real Italian subs are downright addictive, especially when tomatoes are in season. I also love browsing the market and picking up something new to try each time. And their wine and spirits selection never disappoints. It’s been wonderful watching the space grow over the years, and even better seeing how they make everyone feel like family. Mima runs the ship with such warmth and confidence, and it’s clear she sets the tone for the entire team. An absolute staple in the Inner Harbor/Federal Hill neighborhoods. Couldn’t recommend it more.

  • I ordered the ciabatta bing, loved it even though it had a bit too much honey mustard for my liking. I love that they enforce the no pets policy inside which made the atmosphere more welcoming. I will be back for sure.

  • ‼‼‼BEST PIZZA IN BALTIMORE‼‼ I absolutely love this place. I’ve went to this place a total of four times in a row. I don’t even live there. I’m from Dallas, Texas and every time I get off the plane I’m ready to head there. I am completely obsessed they also make an amazing espresso martini one of the best I’ve had And their subs are to die for

  • I ordered from this location thru a 3rd party app, so I did not go in to the store and experience it directly. I ordered a Real Italian Sub and the Shell Pasta Salad. Both were wonderful, tho I wondered why the salad was warm vs cold. The sandwich was as good as the ones I have gotten at the Canton location, and the bread is still stellar. I love the spread they use on the sandwiches and the fresh ingredients. The pasta salad, too, was delicious and filling. I will surely order from Di Pasquale's Harborview again soon

  • The food was delicious! It is located in a beautiful setting in Federal Hill and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. It is not formal but the setting and food are wonderful . You order and then have a seat. Drinks are also available for those who would like a cocktail. We will definitely go there again. .
